Roy Turley Community Award
In July 2021 Daisy was awarded the Roy Turley Community Award for her contribution to our local community. Daisy has been an active member of our school community through her contributions to school life..
Roy Turley was an ex pupil of Parkend School, and a Governor for over 30 years. Roy sadly passed away in 2016. He worked tirelessly for the Parkend Community, supporting Parkend School, Cricket Club, Silver band and Carnival to name but a few. It was because of his love for Parkend, and his support for the local community, Roy’s family decided to create an award in his honour.
Every child in the school was asked to write about themselves and the contribution they have made to both our school and the local community. Roy’s family read through these, and together, after much deliberation, decided that for 2021, Daisy had made an outstanding contribution to both the school and local community.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and bubble closure, Daisy was unable to receive the trophy in the way that we would have liked.
