SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN
Parkend Primary School fully recognises its responsibilities for safeguarding children. Our policy applies to all staff, governors and volunteers working at the school. For more details, a copy of our Safeguarding Policy and Child Protection Policy is available on the policy page or you can request a free copy from the school office.
School doors will be opened and a member of staff will be on duty on the gate from 8.40am.
In order to keep the children safe and secure during the day, all points of access to the building and yard are locked once the children have entered the school for registration.
All visitors to the school must report to the school office. Before authorised entry to the building, visitors must sign in using the electronic register and are given a visitor's badge.
All visitors must sign themselves out on the electronic device on exit of the school.
When playing outdoors during the day the children are supervised at all times by members of staff. In addition, both the playground and the school field have stone walls or sturdy fences to ensure security at all times.
Risk assessments are undertaken for each school trip and annual health and safety audits are carried out around the school by staff and governors.
There is a medium size school car park adjacent to both field and school. Parents and carers are encouraged not to park in the road and to accompany their children into and from school. When parking, please be considerate of our neighbours and other users of the roadway.
