Parkend Primary School
The small school with BIG ideas!
Children in Year 3 and 4 have learned to contribute to the game of hockey by helping to keep possession of the ball, using simple attacking tactics using sending, receiving and dribbling a ball. They started by playing uneven and then moved onto even sided games. They also began to think about defending and winning the ball in a match. Pupils also were encouraged to think about how to use skills, strategies and tactics to outwit the opposition. Year 3 and 4 understand the importance of playing fairly and keeping to the rules. They have been encouraged to be a supportive teammate and identify why this behaviour is important.
