Allotment

Our Gardening Project ... 'The Allotment'

Growing Futures is funded by Thirty Percy to work in schools in the

Forest of Dean for the next three years.

Aim

To inspire wonder and spark an interest in the natural world and how we interact with it.  To enable children to to experience working in a garden and the satisfaction of growing their own food; to create the whole cycle from garden to plate.

It is imperative that children are aware of where their food comes from other than the supermarket so that they can make positive informed choices in the future.

Winter time

Spring time

Many of the children who were in school during lockdown worked really hard on the garden with Bekki and Anna. The benefits of being outside during the winter months were not only good for the children's mental health but also their physical health. Everyone worked so hard together and we certainly saw the garden begin to take shape.

Summer time

The garden is growing so much now and some of the items will be ready to harvest soon!

Time to taste the lovely food we have grown with love!! All very yummy
